Dental Crowns

A dental crown is an artificial tooth that fits over the remaining part of a prepared tooth, making it strong and giving it the shape of a natural tooth. They are sometimes known as caps.

Crowns are ideal for teeth that have been broken, or been weakened by decay or a very large filling.

A dental crown can be used for a number of other reasons, for instance:

  • if you have discoloured fillings and would like to improve the appearance of the tooth
  • if you have had a root filling which will need a crown to protect it
  • it may help hold a bridge or denture firmly in place.

With the latest CEREC technology we are able to offer crowns, inlays and veneers made the same day. No more need for temporary crowns, bulky impressions or a two week wait for the laboratory to make the crown.
